I started Aryeva because I was tired of beauty advice written for someone else’s climate, someone else’s skin, and someone else’s budget.
Most of the skincare writing that ranks on Google was produced for readers in places that don’t have a monsoon, don’t hit 43°C in May, and don’t shop on Amazon India. The product recommendations are for products you can’t easily buy. The routines assume conditions you don’t live in. And almost none of it acknowledges that a sunscreen behaving beautifully on one skin tone can leave a grey cast on another.
Aryeva is an attempt at the alternative: beauty writing for Indian weather, Indian skin, and Indian prices.
What I do here
I write long, specific reviews and guides about skincare, hair care, and cosmetics you can actually buy in India. Where there’s a genuine choice to make, I try to make the comparison clear enough that you can decide for yourself rather than taking my word for it.
I come from a background in graphic and visual design, which shapes how this site works more than it might seem. Where most beauty sites reach for a stock photo, I’d rather build the chart, the undertone guide, or the annotated ingredient label that actually answers the question. If a comparison is easier to understand as a picture, it gets a picture.
How I evaluate things
I say plainly whether I’ve used a product myself. When I haven’t, I say what the recommendation is based on instead.
I read ingredient lists rather than press releases.
I include at least one thing worth skipping in every roundup. A list where everything is excellent is a list that’s selling, not reviewing.
I don’t quote prices in articles, because they change weekly. I’ll tell you which bracket something sits in.
